The aging process eventually leads to two distinctive changes in facial aesthetics: volume loss or redistribution and increased skin laxity (sagging). Over time, the natural contours of the face that contribute to a youthful look will soften, change, and age due to the long-term effects of gravity, sun exposure, and even genetics. Lifestyle habits like poor diet, smoking, and drinking often speed up the aging process and make wrinkles and sagging skin even more visible.
A surgical facelift, the most dramatic solution to these issues, permanently addresses multiple signs of aging for comprehensive anti-aging.

While this rejuvenating facial procedure is still a great option for select patients, modern cosmetic medicine now offers patients different options based on their unique needs.
InMode FaceTite is a minimally invasive procedure that can achieve some of the tightening results of facelift combined with facial liposuction to contour and rejuvenate the face with reduced downtime.
Dr. DeJoseph of Premier Image Cosmetic & Laser Surgery in Sandy Springs, GA are pleased to offer patients InMode FaceTite as an alternative to more invasive procedures.
What is FaceTite?
FaceTite is a non-surgical solution that improves aging contours of the lower face and neck by tightening and rejuvenating the skin. Dual wands treat internal and external tissues simultaneously, utilizing radiofrequency energy to reduce unwanted stubborn fat and cause the skin to contract. The internal wand reaches tissues below the skin through a small access point that is much smaller and less traumatic than a standard incision. As the handpiece is passed under the skin, a surface electrode glides over the top of the skin, directing the energy through the tissues. From within, fat is selectively removed and the skin’s dermis is heated and tightened.
FaceTite Treatment Areas
FaceTite is intended for use on the lower face and neck, including:
- Lower face – jawline and jowls
- Neck – double chin and neck
Because the procedure addresses the lower face, it can sometimes be as effective as a lower facelift surgery for certain patients. The settings on FaceTite can be adjusted to achieve different results where needed. The jowls and neck can be firmed to re-contour the jawline. Double chins can be improved or eliminated using FaceTite treatments.
FaceTite Procedure
The first step to undergoing FaceTite is a thorough cleansing of the skin. Next, a topical numbing cream is applied to the areas that will be treated. Oral sedatives may also be administered at this time to help keep the patients comfortable throughout the process. A small access point is created for the smaller of the dual probes to treat the skin beneath the surface. The incision is minor and will not require a stitch to be closed. It should heal without any obvious scarring. The settings of the device are adjusted, and heat is delivered through the wand as it passes above and below the skin simultaneously. Other mini-incisions may be created around the face for the various treatment sites and can be hidden in discrete locations like behind the ears or within the hairline.

The Difference between a Facelift and FaceTite
A facelift is a facial plastic surgery that requires the doctor to create larger incisions in the skin and contour facial tissues below the skin. Extra fat may be liposuctioned from the face and neck, the muscles can be tightened and repositioned, and loose skin might be trimmed away. The procedure is often performed in a surgical center under local anesthesia combined with sedation, or general anesthesia. The results of a facelift are the most dramatic and long-lasting.
FaceTite is a minimally invasive procedure using a handheld dual probe that enters the skin without the need for any extensive incisions. Radiofrequency technology heats the tissues and acts on fat, eliminating it from the area. The device delivers the same thermal energy to the skin to tighten it. The procedure does not alter the appearance or location of facial muscles. FaceTite is an in-office treatment that is generally performed with a local anesthetic and oral sedation. This cosmetic treatment carries fewer risks than facelift surgery, but the results will naturally be more subtle. With that said, FaceTite can produce near-surgical results that are very impressive and exceed most patients’ expectations.
Other Enhancing Procedures
While FaceTite produces excellent results, there are a number of nonsurgical procedures that may enhance patients’ results. Fractional CO2 laser treatments resurface the skin and refresh the appearance of the upper layers of skin. The benefits of undergoing a laser treatment following FaceTite is that any downtime will allow recovery for both procedures, and patients will notice an improved final look. Premier Image Cosmetic & Laser Surgery provides other skin refinishing treatments through their med spa, including chemical peels, microneedling (the “Filler Facial”) and dermaplaning.
Dermal injections are also a popular addition to the FaceTite treatment regimen. Dr. DeJoseph may require that patients wait for a few weeks before getting soft tissue fillers in order to determine where injections are needed as the skin continues to firm up. Because some fat volume is reduced during FaceTite, fillers will restore volume to any areas where it may be lacking.

Ideal Patients for FaceTite
People who have noticeable signs of slackened facial and neck skin due to aging, weight loss, or other gradual changes to the face may be candidates for FaceTite. The thermal technology acts as a cosmetic “shrink-wrapping” for resolving mild to moderate skin laxity. Without any large incisions, the doctor can produce an effect that offers near-surgical rejuvenation. If the patient opts to undergo facelift surgery in the future, FaceTite does not hinder the doctor’s ability to perform more invasive treatments later on.

FaceTite Results
Many elective procedures do not produce instant results, but after undergoing FaceTite, patients will see visible results right away. In as few as three days after the appointment, there can be a significant improvement. While there will likely be some swelling, this side effect can be controlled by a cold compress and medications. Patients will notice full results on 5-8 weeks, and studies have shown that the tightening continues in the skin for up to a year after the procedure.
