Aquafacial is an ideal for all skin types and especially targets and improves issues such as fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, oily and congested pores and aging. The AquaFacial treatment is a resurfacing procedure that thoroughly cares for the skin by cleansing, exfoliating, extracting and hydrating. This non-invasive, non-surgical procedure is perfect for individuals that want instant results without discomfort or downtime. The Aquafacial procedure is immediately effective and safe for most skin types and skin colors.

5 Step Aquafacial Treatment Process
There are five relaxing and life-changing steps in the 30-minute Aquafacial treatment session.
Step 1: Cleansing and Exfoliating
The trained Aquafacial aestheticians at Premier Image Cosmetic and Laser Surgery use a deplaning tool to open the pores and remove the uppermost layer of debris and dead cells away. This process feels like a spinning toothbrush being moved over the face.
Step 2: Acid Peel
Most glycolic peels cause the skin to sting for a few minutes until it is washed off, the Aquafacial acid peel is a unique peel comprised of glycolic and salicylic. This Aquafacial acid peel is gentle and only creates a faint tingle, but produces amazing results.
Step 3: Extractions
This step in the treatment unclogs pores. Rather than completing manual extractions, the Premier Image Cosmetic and Laser Surgery aestheticians use a vortex-extraction nozzle, which acts as a gentle vacuum that lifts and cleanses clogged dirt. The cup at the base of the extraction machine holds all that is extracted. Patients are happy to see the results the extraction produces.
Steps 4 and 5: Hydration and Serum Application
Steps four and five are completed with a vortex-fusion tool, which infuses a serum that is high in antioxidants and collagen into the skin. This process promotes improvements in elasticity and hydration.
Aquafacial FAQs
The treatment takes approximately 30-minutes to complete. Follow-up procedures may be completed two to three weeks apart. Most people report visible skin improvements after one treatment, and the skin hydration results can last between five- and seven days. The results may last longer, and follow-up treatments are recommended to maintain or freshen up the results that you achieve with Aquafacial. A series of six to ten Aquafacial procedures are approved for the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, acne, oily skin and hyperpigmentation. These results should be treated with ongoing maintenance every two- to three-weeks.
Post-treatment skincare products may be recommended by Dr. DeJoseph which will include a sunscreen to protect the skin. Contact Dr. DeJoseph if you see any indications of infection or pigment changes. Aqua -Dermabrasion is a painless treatment that may produce some post treatment redness caused by the application of antioxidants directly to the skin. Aqua-Dermabrasion will increase the thickness your skin layers due to the deposit of new collagen and increased levels of antioxidants. Fine lines and wrinkles, your pores and hyperpigmentation will decrease after a few treatments.
Following the Aquafacial treatment, you may experience varying degrees of redness, which will depend on the depth of the treatment and the use of the peel solution. You may return immediately to work, but you may want to rest or use makeup to conceal any redness that you may experience in the first 24- to 48-hours. Premier Image Cosmetic and Laser Surgery may recommend Lycogel® Camouflage & Concealer for use after the treatment. This foundation promotes the healing of damaged or post-procedural skin and may be used immediately after the treatment, thus allowing you to enjoy the day without a red face.
The Aquafacial treatment is often painless and won’t greatly irritate the skin, but some patients experience slight facial redness and tightness for two- to four-hours after the treatment. It is very rare for the redness to continue for over a day and for the sensitive skin around the eyes to become swollen. But, if this occurs, it can be treated with cold compresses. A risk of scarring is very rare.
There is no downtime required after an Aquafacial treatment. You may return to work immediately. You may ask the doctor about concealer to cover possible redness. A few patients experience slight tightness or redness for up to four hours after the treatment. Swelling around the eyes is rare but can last for a day or two and may require the application of cold compresses.
