Microdermabrasion has crossed over from Hollywood to the mainstream. It’s being advanced as an Instant Facelift by the medical industry. Microdermabrasion gently removes the epidermis, or top layer of the stratem corneum which encourages vasodilatation, improved cell nutrition, improved skin elasticity and improved skin texture. Microdermabrasion is a safe, non-invasive procedure for resurfacing the skin and is used to treat sun damage, scarring, wrinkles and other superficial skin problems of the face, neck, chest and other areas. Also, referred to as the lunchtime peel, this skin resurfacing treatment requires no down time.
Microdermabrasion is safe for all skin types and particularly Asian, Hispanic and African American skin types, as there is no risk for skin discoloration and restores these skin types to a more youthful, radiant appearance. There is no age range for the use of microdermabrasion. It is appropriate to use as needed on problematic and acne prone skin, rosacea and sensitive skin, sun-damaged and aging skin and it may be used as a preventative on young adults.
Microdermabrasion by medical aestheticians is an effective medical skin care treatment that gently resurfaces the skin with the application of tiny crystals, combined with gentle abrasion for superficial ablation of the epidermis or outer layer of the skin. Abrasion of the stratum corneum removes keratin cells and the mortar layer between the cells which will allow for more topical serum penetration of nutrients into the dermis. This in turn will help in the formation of a new stratum corneum layer to the skin. The new skin is youthful and radiant with marked improvement of the old skin imperfections.
The crystals are immediately vacuumed away, resulting in the removal of the top layer of the stratum corneum. The vacuum action increases blood flow into the dermis which increases fibroblast activity, which in turn causes an increase in collagen and elastin formation.
The vacuum action closes up large pores, removes dead cells, and plumps up and tightens the skin. Microdermabrasion resurfacing stimulates the production of collagen, which in turn improves skin elasticity and thickness while smoothing and tightening the skin.
After Microdermabrasion treatment the new living skin is soft, smooth and more receptive to pharmaceutical-grade skin care products that are rich in vitamins and nutrients. Patients are encouraged to use a good sun protection following treatments. Results are immediate, however a full treatment protocol is 6 to 8 treatments, spaced 2 to 3 weeks apart, and followed by one treatment every 2 to 3 months. Microdermabrasion is often performed in conjunction with other skin rejuvenation procedures and a home skin care protocol using Premier Image Dermaceuticals pharmaceutical-grade skin care products.
Premier Image provides Microdermabrasion treatments by only experienced, certified medical aestheticians and supervised by Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeons. Our goal is to bring you the absolute best skin care to restore and reveal a beautiful, radiant, more youthful appearance

Plastic surgery can leave bruising, swelling and scars that keep you indoors even after you feel well enough to return to work or other activities. Camouflage cosmetics can hide these post-surgical side effects in both women and men and help you resume your regular schedule as quickly and seamlessly as possible.
Camouflage cosmetics are used for three purposes: concealing, color correcting and contouring. Concealers are thick, opaque but creamy foundations that hide bruises and incision lines. They should be blended into foundation, color correctors or eye makeup around the eyes to avoid build-up in the delicate skin creases there. Color correctors blend post-surgical marks with your normal skin tone. (Lavender shades work well for yellows, while green counteracts redness.) Lastly, light and dark contour products hide swelling by creating the appearance of highlights and shadows. Contour products are most popular after nose or facial implant surgery, although they can be used anywhere on the face.
Our post-operative skin care program involves a number of treatments to ensure optimum healing and the least amount of bruising and swelling following facial plastic and laser surgeries.
- Lymphatic massage strengthens the performance of the immune system, benefits internal organs and helps get rid of toxins. This technique involves “pumping” the lymphatic system by pressing forcefully, up and down on the chest to stimulate lymph movement.
- Ultrasound generates heat within the tissues, which aids in wound healing. It releases histamine, accelerating the acute inflammatory phase and promoting the healing process.
