Plastic surgeon to head Medical Association of Georgia
An Atlanta plastic surgeon will serve as president of the Medical Association of Georgia during the coming year.
Dr. William E. Silver was sworn in Oct. 19 as MAG’s new president at the group’s 159th annual House of Delegates meeting at the Lake Lanier Islands Resort in Buford, Ga.
Silver earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, while he completed his residency at Mount Sinai and Bellevue hospitals in New York City.
Later, he served as director of head and neck surgery for the U.S. Army and founded his practice, Premier Image Cosmetic & Laser Surgery in Atlanta.
During his upcoming term, Silver promised that MAG would continue to focus on such key issues as tort reform, physician autonomy, graduate medical education and health insurance reform.
Also, he said would be push to create greater transparency in the health insurance industry.
