As a plastic surgeon, one never knows what we do how it affects our patients totally.  An example is a woman elementary school teacher, who is well known in the community as an award-winning teacher, and became extremely self-conscious of the appearance of her hands.  It all started when one of her young students was asked to hold this teacher’s hand and the small child “bolted.”  She did not want to hold her hand because she saw all the “veins” (and tendons) under the thin skin of her hands.

The teacher became extremely self-conscious of this situation and shared her story with me.  She did not even know that something simple could be done to help cover up this problem.

When she presented the story to me I immediately explained to her the procedure of applying Radiesse under the skin to “thicken” the appearance of the skin.  Within a few days the “veins & tendons” were markedly camoflaged.  She then wrote me the following “thank you” note:

Dr Silver,

“Thank you so much for making it possible for me to get Radiesse injections in my hands.  I no longer look at my hands and see my grandmother’s hands.  Now I can see mine.

I was becoming painfully self-conscious of their appearance.  But, thanks to the arrangements you made, these feelings are gone.

Your skill, talent and commitment to your patients make an obvious difference in outward appearance.  However, all you do makes a tremendous difference emotionally – inside one’s spirit.”

            Thank you again, sincerely,

            Marty
